Responsibilities

  • Social media rating app from a single Ionic/Angular codebase — on the web and as native builds for iOS and Android.
  • Sign-up, login and onboarding including profile creation (Firebase Authentication), secured through Firebase security rules.
  • Social media feed with filters, own posts and media upload (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage).
  • Delivery of the web version through Firebase Hosting with a CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions).
  • A maintainable codebase for handover: clearly layered structure, reusable components, type-safe models and a consistent clean-code style (SOLID).

Outcome

  • Finished product handed over to the client — running as a cross-platform app on the web and as a native app on iOS and Android from one shared codebase.
  • Built entirely on Firebase: authentication, data storage, media storage and delivery — access runs straight through the Firebase SDK, with no server layer of its own.
  • A codebase ready for handover: consistent structure, reusable components and type safety throughout — the client's team can carry on without a ramp-up hurdle.
  • One revision, three platforms: web deployment through Firebase Hosting, iOS and Android builds from the same codebase.
  • Built on an existing clickable prototype and taken to a product ready for handover in around two months.
